RANDOM THINGS

Here are pictures of the little bit of progress I
have made.
Please!! Someone tell me it is pretty because
that will motivate me to keep going. (smile):) Excuse the pictures. I think I need a new camera.
there is a glare, and the colors aren't turning out right.

This is what I have accomplished so far.
Not much but it is a start.

It seems that my seventy years have caught up with me. For the last two or three days I have been exhausted. For those of you who follow my blog, know my ramblings about our house redoing. It has been going on for almost six years. My Mr. Picky said I don't have patience. Hmmphhh!! I guess his idea of patience and my idea of patience are two different things.

I decided maybe if I get into the mess of storage boxes and etc. maybe I can make some progress at a faster pace. My bones are paying for it. I have one wall in the living room almost done, but if I turn around and look the opposite direction from the wall I have worked on, there is a mountain of storage boxes and assorted things. No room for furniture yet. The dining room is stacked with the floors for the dining room and kitchen. and more storage bins. The kitchen has some of the cupboard doors off, and it is just a very big mess. We have so much to do and it is my goal to get us organized. We have a hutch and a dining room table we are going to refinish. A small curio cabinet and little glass top table that I want to paint in country colors, floors to lay, New counter tops to install, new counter tops, and tile to do. The list goes on and on.

The good news is, once the bedroom furniture is delivered, the back part of the house is done!!! I have vowed to work an hour and a half every day on this upside down house.
I missed blogging for the last two days, so I intend on catching up on every ones posts tonight.

MANCAT MONDAY and BlUE MONDAY

Be sure to join Cindy at http://ahousewithtwocats.blogspot.com/
It's ManCat Monday and that means it's time to show our manly cats.
Here comes that little flashy box again! I am learning to like it!
See how I tilt my head? That's because Mama wants me to pose.

I heard a noise! I am going to my hiding spot
way up in the brand new box spring where I have dug three
big holes. I can crawl up there real fast.
Mama isn't the happiest about this but she said I can't
help it if I am a scaredy cat!

Last week Mama took pictures of our fight. We get real mad at each other
sometimes, and then before you know it we are cuddly friends again.
We like to take our naps together.

It is Monday and time for us to show are blues. Be sure to join Sally
at http://www.smilingsally.blogspot.com/

It was my birthday recently and I thought I would show you
the handmade gifts my granddaughter gave me.
below is a little pincushion that has blue in the print.

I love it when she makes me things. A handmade gift is so special.
This is a pretty wall hanging that I have hung in my sewing room

This is my drink of choice. My husband said it is a good thing it doesn't have any
alcohol in it, or I would never be sober!

This dish looks very old to me. My daughter gave it to me.
An elderly man whose wife had died, gave this to her when
she was helping him sort things.
She knows how I love old things with a passion, so she
gave it to me to keep. I keep it in my china cabinet.
On the bottom of the dish is marked
MZ
Altrehlau
CM-R
Czechoslovakia

Honest Scrap Award

My friend Rosey over at http://dunghoe.blogspot.com/ has given me this award.
She has a very green thumb and I love visiting there . It gives me a glimpse of what my yard might be like if my brown thumb would turn green.

To receive this award I must tell at least 10 honest things about myself and pass the award onto a minimum of seven other blogger friends., so they can have the honor of telling 10 honest things about themselves. This is a way of getting to know our friends a little better.

Before I begin, I want to thank Rosey, it is a mystery to me that she would think that there would be 10 honest interesting things about me would even exist. So a big THANK YOU goes to Rosey for all her sweet comments on my posts and for giving me the award.

1. I have been blogging since October 24th 2008. It is my new love and quite addicting.

2. I am an animal lover, particularily cats and dogs but really all animals

3. I love rainy weather, where I live we never seem to get enough.

4. I love shopping, and going out to lunch. My favorite stores are Target, JC Penneys, Walmart,
Michaels, Joann's and antique/thrift stores. My favorite restaurants are Home Town Buffet,
Marie Callendars, and anywhere that has good Mexican food.

5. I love going to movies. I don't like renting them because if I am at home I can't sit still that
long.

6. I love tv reality shows, Flipping Out, The Real Housewives Of various places, the Duggar
family, The Roloffs, I have a great interest in how other people live. I hope I am not snoopy.

7. I like to cook, I love to bake. I am constantly mad at myself for not having the energy to do
these things as much as I would like to.

8. I sometimes watch tv shows about people who hoard things, and I think I might be one to a
certain extent. I am not one of those untidy hoarders though, because I can't stand a mess.

9. I have a HUGE collection of fat quarters. It all started when my daughter worked at Joann's.
The pile is so unbelievabley humongously big, my grandaughter who also blogs over at
http://pocketfullsofsunshine.blogspot.com/ wants me to take a picture of the pile for
Wordless Wednesday.

10. I love doing crafts, and going to craft shows, quilt shows.

11. My favorite place to be is home with my furry family or doing something with my daughter,
grandaughter and great grandkids.

12. I am scared of bugs, spiders and such but I won't kill them. I put them outside instead.

13. My favorite music is probably classical if it is mellow. I love piano and flute.

Before I list the seven people, I want to say that I know some like awards, others don't so if I list you and you don't want to participate you won't hurt my felelings one bit. You can just ignore this or pretend you didn't see it.

I just love everyone I blog with so if I have left anyone out, I didn't mean to. I have had to edit this so many times, stop to eat lunch and still can't get the spacing right. so this is it!! I have listed more than seven but the rule was a minimum of seven.

PICTURES FROM THE PUMPKIN PATCH

Not very far from where I live, probably about a half hours drive
there is a little country town that has a big general store that
features wonderful food items, wonderful things for the home.
They have craft fairs here a few times a year. There are picnic
grounds and lots of animals to feed. This is my favorite place
to have a picnic with the grand kids.
There is a lot more than pumpkins to look at.
I love the way they have the pumpkin patch decorated
this year. The store features so many wonderful things, like nuts,
soup mixes, Jellies, fudge, candy , and beautiful holiday decorations.
Candy and more candy!
Caillou had to stop to pet all the animals.
Aren't baby goats just the cutest?
something else to pet
I think the hills around the pumpkin patch are so pretty.
Lots of pumpkins!!
How's this for a happy smile!
Jasper loves brownies.

Jasper was taking it easy in the stroller. He loved the pumpkins.

Caillou is hard to keep up with. he is a climber!
A baby pumpkin!
Caillou is trying to make friends with the scarecrow.

Scarecrows! Boo-Bah loved the scarecrows more
than the pumpkins.
Which one to pick?
Caillou was here there and everywhere.
Some of the pumpkins were bigger than Caillou
The day was ended with a hay ride.

HOUND DOG THURSDAY

Cindy and Charlie are hosting Hound Dog Thursday
Be sure to stop by Cindy's at

I am Pearlene. I am feeling a little uppity this
morning. Can you blame me? I am in my Sunday dress,
relaxing on a minky blanket. Could I look any more
beautiful than I do now? Sometimes I think I could be
Miss Doggy America.
Here I am showing you my beautiful smile.
what? did you say you wanted my autograph?
Perhaps some other time.

Ruby is such a camera hog. she has pushed me aside!!

Well I am feeling a little tired from all this talking.
I have to find my toy.

Yes my beloved fans, I am done for the day. After all
I have to get my beauty rest.

CATS ON TUESDAY

Be sure to visit
http://www.gattinamycats.blogspot.com/
It's time for Cats On Tuesday

Even in the best of friendships there is bound to
be disagreements sometimes.
The noises they were making were actually a lot
worse than the fight.

MANCAT MONDAY

Be sure to visit Cindy and Henry, her beautiful cat
IT'S MANCAT MONDAY
What's this?
Another new toy! this one even sings like a bird.I am just gonna watch from the bed. This reminds me
of the red parrot toy that I was very afraid of when I was a baby.

Uh oh, mama has put it on the bed! I guess she wants me
to be brave. I will sniff at it, but I won't play with it.

We have to stay in here today because floors are being ripped up.
I wish our humans would hurry up and finish the house, so we can
have free run every day. We can cause more mischief when we run through
the house. I guess our fun of will have to wait.

REMEMBERING MR. SUNSHINE

This is Mr. Sunshine in his younger days. In 1980 my daughter was 16 and was working at a pet store.

One night she brought to me a small brown paper bag with

a kitty inside of it. He was a beautiful deep orange long haired.

He became my Mr. Sunshine.

Mr. Sunshine lived with chronic renal failure off and on

for most of his life.

He had such a strong will to live and surprised us all by

living to the ripe old age of 21 years and 3 months old.

His journey along the way was sometimes hard but for the

most part he was always a happy loving cat.

Of course to me, he was way more than a pet. He was my Sunshine.

I was with him through his hard times, and he through mine.

While I was going through the ordeal of having cancer, Mr. Sunshine

never left my side. There was a bond between us that even I cannot explain.

I always knew how he felt, and he knew how I felt. We seemed to know

what each of us were thinking.

In the last few years of his life, he developed high blood pressure

and lost his eyesight. He still played and traveled through the house.

His last year he lived mostly on my bed amongst all the soft pillows.

I posted once before about Mr. Sunshine, but I wanted to do it again

for Vicki over at

http://gooeylounge.blogspot.com/

She and her family have taken in Bucky a cat that didn't have a home.

He too, has renal failure. They are giving him fluids every day just like we

did Mr. Sunshine. So this is to give them some encouragement. Bucky could

turn out to be another Mr. Sunshine.

HAPPY SATURDAY FROM BOO-BAHS LITTLE SUNSHINES

Peanut has decided to hang out in his tunnel for the day.
I think he might be daydreaming about Lucy.
Marshmellow is taking his first nap for the day.

Pearlene is playing with the toy that never leaves her side.

Ruby is just walking around trying to find something to do.

About Me

My Photo
Boo-Bah
I will soon be seventy. Where has time gone. I don't remember going from young to old. I have been married for nearly 52 years to the same man. I have a son who will soon be 51, and a daughter who will be 45 on her next birthday. Now if that doesn't make me feel ancient I don't know what will! My sunshine and smiles come from my family. I am a grandma to two beautiful grandaughters, and a great grandma to two of the most precious little boys on earth. I love animals, and have quite a little zoo. I have three cats and two chihuahuas. I love them all and they keep me quite busy with all their antics. I love life and hope to be around to enjoy many more years.
